The Cannes Film Festival 2017 has opened in Cannes, France.

The Cannes Film Festival is an annual international event, one of the most prestigious in the world, that celebrates the best in film.
Spanish film director and screenwriter Pedro Almodovar has been selected as the President of the Jury for the festival.
Italian actress Monica Bellucci will host the opening and closing ceremonies.
Especially, this year marks the 70th founding anniversary of the festival.
“Ismael's Ghosts”, directed by French director Arnaud Desplechin, has been selected as the opening film for the festival.
For the first time, Vietnamese film industry officially attended major events and activities on the sidelines of the 70th annual Cannes Film Festival.
A special event called “Vietnam night”, which features the most famous and successful films of Vietnamese cinema and introduces Vietnamese cuisine, is expected to create lasting impression on the visitors.
At the event, a Vietnamese booth is arranged at the Village International Pantireo to display publications popularizing film studios as well as the country and people of Vietnam. Meanwhile, “Dao cua dan ngu cu” (The Way Station), “Vo ba” (The Third Wife), “Vi” (Taste) and “Con culi khong biet khoc” (Sloth Monkey Never Cries) will be introduced./.
