Police gave an update, while warning that the true death toll from Grenfell Tower will not be known for "many months".

They said the death toll had risen to around 80, but they were still a long way from giving a final, accurate number.

Prime Minister Theresa May has confirmed that 120 tower blocks across 37 local authority areas have flammable cladding on their exterior.

40 fire engines and at least 200 firefighters, along with 20 ambulance crews, had been called to the blaze in Grenfell Tower, which has 120 flats.

The 27-storey tower is managed by the Kensington and Chelsea Tenant Management Organisation (KCTMO) on behalf of the council.

The apartment block was built in 1974./.
