The meeting took place in a climate of respect and professionalism. Both delegations agreed on the usefulness of the meeting and agreed to hold new talks in the future.

The meeting is part of the dialogue on enforcement and compliance with the law, established between the two countries in November 2015.

The Cuban delegation included representatives of Ministries of the Interior; Foreign Affairs and Information and Communications.

The US delegation included representatives from the Departments of Homeland Security; Justice and State.

Washington and La Habana have minimized cooperative meetings after US President Donald Trump decided to stop the process of improving bilateral relations, which was launched in 2015 under President Barack Obama./.
