During the bilateral meeting between the two leaders, Mr. Kim thanked Singapore for organizing the summit as if it was "their own family affair."

The two leaders discussed relations between their countries, developments in the DPRK and the region, including recent positive developments on the Korean peninsula, said the Ministry of Foreign Affairs in a statement.

“Prime Minister Lee complimented the bold and admirable decision by Chairman Kim and President of the US Donald Trump to come together for this Summit,” it said.

The statement also said PM Lee hoped the "meeting will advance the prospects for peace and stability on the Korean Peninsula and the larger region."

As scheduled, the US - DPRK Summit will take place at the Capella Hotel in Singapore’s Sentosa island on June 12th at 09h00./.
