Egypt tightens security ahead of Presidential election

200,000 police are mobilized to tighten security ahead of the presidential election in Egypt, as a car bomb explosion in northern Egypt has killed at least two people.

The blast occurred just two days before the opening of the Presidential election.
Egypt’s Interior Ministry has also declared a state of “high alert” in the run-up to presidential polls.
Interior Minister Magdi Abdel Ghaffar has instructed security agencies to maintain a state of high alert with a view to securing more than 11,000 polling stations and offices nationwide.
Presidential elections will be held in Egypt between March 26th - 28th.
On January 19th, incumbent President Abdel Fattah el-Sisi formally announced he would run for a second and final term. A runoff, if necessary, will take place on April 19th to April 21st outside the country and April 24th - 26th within the country.
The winner will be declared on April 2nd./.
