The discussion will take place at the joint inter-Korean liaison office in DPRK’s border town of Kaesong.

It was a part of efforts to implement the Pyongyang Declaration, which RoK President Moon Jae-in and top DPRK leader Kim Jong-un signed after their third summit in Pyongyang in September.

Earlier, the RoK delegation, led by Vice Sports Minister Roh Tae-kang, and his DPRK counterpart Won Kil-u met at the joint liaison office in the border town of Kaesong on November 2nd to discuss about future Games.

The two sides were to discuss forming unified teams for the 2020 Tokyo Summer Olympics and other areas of cooperation, including making a joint bid for hosting the 2032 Summer Olympic Games.

They also said they will try to field a joint team at next year's men's handball world championships.

The RoK and DPRK have taken major steps in their sports cooperation. DPRK skiers and skaters participated together in the 2018 Winter Olympics in PyeongChang in February; the two country’s athletes also assembled in the World Tour Platinum Korea Open in July in Dejeon, RoK, and the Table Tennis World Championships in May./.
