Bac Ninh's socio-economic landscape is showing many positive changes, particularly in industrial development and attracting foreign direct investment (FDI).
In the first 10 months of 2024, Bac Ninh's industrial production index increased by 5.28% compared to the same period last year, making it the third-highest growth rate in the past five years. Specifically, the processing and manufacturing industry grew by 5.2%; the electricity, gas, steam, and air conditioning supply sector increased by 11.66%; and the water supply, waste management, and wastewater treatment sector saw significant growth at 24.66%.
The business trend survey conducted with sampled enterprises in the processing and manufacturing sector in the province indicates that businesses expect the situation in the fourth quarter to be more optimistic compared to the previous three quarters. Of these, 39.1% of enterprises believe the trend will improve compared to the third quarter; 18.9% predict more difficulties, and 42% anticipate stable production and business conditions.
By business type, state-owned enterprises are the most optimistic, with 42.9% predicting better production and business conditions in the fourth quarter compared to the third quarter. The rate is 37.5% for non-state enterprises and 40.2% for foreign-invested enterprises. Enterprises in the province are also focusing all resources on accelerating production to fulfill orders and meet the goals and plans set for the year.
From the local government's perspective, Bac Ninh Province consistently accompanies and supports businesses, considering their success as the province's success and their challenges as shared challenges. Notably, the provincial leaders' "5 Together" spirit with the business community — "Thinking together, Acting together, Succeeding together, Developing together, and Taking pride together" — serves as a driving force for enterprises to grow stronger.
Chairman of the Bac Ninh Provincial People's Committee, Vuong Quoc Tuan, stated that starting from October 2024, the province launched a program to meet with businesses and entrepreneurs on the 13th of every month to listen, share, and address their challenges./.
