Art performance shows gratitude to wounded and fallen soldiers

On August 6, the Party Central Committee’s Commission of Popularization and Education and the Communist Party of Vietnam Online Newspaper held an art performance to mark the 77th anniversary of Wounded and Fallen Soldiers’ Day (July 27).

The event entitled “Mau hoa do” (Red Flowers), the 17th of its kind, was held in Hanoi.

The performance drew the participation of Politburo member Nguyen Trong Nghia, who is also Secretary of the PCC and Head of the PCC’s Commission of Popularization and Education.

The art performances featured memories of the fierce war years and stories on the front lines guided by revolutionary ideals for national liberation and unification. It aimed to commemorate revolutionary contributors while promoting national pride and the tradition of “When drinking water, remember its source.”

The programme attracted special attention of people from all walks of life, organisations, agencies, and enterprises nationwide who donated financial support for the organising board to give to revolutionary contributors.

Over the past years, thousands of bank savings books, more than 600 social houses, and tens of thousands of scholarships and gifts have been presented to families of war invalids, martyrs, and people with meritorious services to the country.

At the event on August 6, a total of 25 social houses, 300 savings books, and many other gifts were presented to policy beneficiaries in many localities, such as Hanoi, Cao Bang, Lang Son, Thai Binh, Ninh Binh, Long An, Tien Giang./.
