Cultural exchange between Vietnamese and Indian localities

On December 27, a cultural exchange and tourism connection between Veitanm’s Lam Dong province and India’s Ladakh region took place in the Central Highlands city of Da Lat to promote tourism development.

This important event aims to promote close cooperation between Lam Dong province and Ladakh region, and responding to activities commemorating the 130th founding anniversary of Da Lat city.

Vice chairman of the provincial People’s Committee Pham S spoke highly of cultural heritage, potential and strengths in tourism development of India in general and the Ladakh region in particular. He also introduced the culture of Lam Dong, its unique tourism products as well as opportunities and potential that can be utilised if there is a tourism connection between the two regions.

The official emphasised that the province hopes to continue the close connection in terms of culture and tourism between the two localities, thereby opening up opportunities for cooperation in a range of fields between Lam Dong and Ladakh.

Tashi Gyalson, Chief Executive Councilor of the Ladakh Autonomous Hill Development Council, said India and Vietnam are strengthening bilateral cooperation in many fields, ranging from enhancing trade and cultural exchange and economic cooperation to human connection.

Ladakh is a vast plateau of India, located in the majestic Himalayas. This land was the center of the ancient Silk Road. Today, Ladakh is known as a place imbued with the spirit of Buddhism, especially Vajrayana Buddhism.

With similarities in tourism development conditions, representatives of the Ladakh government and tourism companies met with the Lam Dong provincial government to cooperate in tourism development.

At the exchange, the Organizing Committee showed two videos "Da Lat-Lam Dong, investment opportunities and tourist attraction" and "Ladakh-Indian."

On this occasion, special art performances by artists from both Vietnam and Indian were held. The programmes will run until December 30./.
