Mr. Pham Quang Hieu, Assistant to the Minister of Foreign Affairs, Vietnamese dignitaries and diplomats took part in this celebration along with representatives of the Vietnamese civil society.
The Moroccan Ambassador, M. Jamale Chouaibi, made a speech on this occasion, informing about the important accomplishments achieved under the leadership of His Majesty the King of Morocco since His accession to the Throne, making of Morocco an oasis of peace and stability in its region.
Ambassador Jamale Chouaibi particularly emphasized His Majesty’s contribution to regional peace and security, and His engagement in the promotion of South-South cooperation, including His humanitarian gesture of solidarity towards African nations in the context of the COVID-19 pandemic.
He congratulated the Vietnamese Government for the outstanding and impressive handling of the coronavirus pandemic, hailed worldwide as a success story, as well as for the spirit of solidarity that the Vietnamese Leadership has shown towards many countries in its immediate neighborhood and elsewhere including Africa.
The Moroccan Ambassador took pride in the fact that Morocco and Vietnam share a lot of similarities namely their geostrategic position respectively as entry gates to Africa and Europe and to South-East Asia, their political stability, their dynamic emerging economies, their sustained economic growth and their policies of diversification of trade partners and of human resources capacity strengthening favoring further cooperation and coordination in the future.
Mr. Pham Quang Hieu praised the achievements attained under the wise reign of His Majesty King Mohammed VI, allowing Morocco to enjoy sustained progress in socio-economic development while securing political stability and national solidarity, making of Morocco “a prominent country in North Africa and the entire continent at large, with increasing international standing.
He expressed his confidence in the future of the bilateral relations between Vietnam and Morocco that “shall grow even more robustly in the time to come, for the prosperity of each country and for peace and stability in the two regions.
He also informed of the planned celebration of the 60th anniversary of diplomatic relations, "a significant milestone in our long history of bilateral relations"./.
