Vietnam well prepares for Japanese Prime Minister’s visit

The Office of the Vietnamese Government, the Vietnamese Ministry of Foreign Affairs and relevant agencies are actively giving best preparations for Japanese Prime Minister Suga Yoshihide’s upcoming visit to Vietnam.

So said Minister and Head of the Office of the Government Mai Tien Dung on October 7 during his reception for Japanese Ambassador to Vietnam Yamada Takio. 

At the meeting, Mr. Dung welcomed and highly appreciated Prime Minister Suga Yoshihide's selection of Vietnam as the first country to travel after taking office. “The visit is very meaningful to the bilateral relationship, especially in the context of the two sides' efforts to restore cooperation in all fields, demonstrating Japan's consistent foreign policy of attaching importance to its relations with Vietnam and the region,” he said.

According to Mr. Dung, Vietnamese Prime Minister Nguyen Xuan Phuc has directed relevant agencies to create the most favorable conditions for the operation of Prime Minister Suga Yoshihide's delegation, and ensure the prevention and control of COVID-19. 

Expressing his thanks to the Japanese Ambassador for making contributions to the Japanese Prime Minister’s visit to Vietnam, Mr. Dung suggested that the ambassador should continue to work with the Vietnamese side to make the visit successful, contributing to deepening the strategic partnership between the two countries.

Japanese Ambassador Yamada Takio emphasized that Japanese Prime Minister Suga Yoshihide's selection of Vietnam as the first country to visit after taking office demonstrates the importance of Vietnam to Japan.

He added that the Vietnam-Japan cooperation relationship in recent years had grown strongly and Prime Minister Suga Yoshihide would continue to develop and deepen the strategic partnership between the two countries. “Prime Minister Suga Yoshihide's visit to Vietnam also demonstrates the economic confidence between the two countries,” he said, adding that he believed the Vietnam-Japan relationship would grow even stronger in the coming time./.
