(CPV) - Hanoi attracted 152 million USD in foreign direct investment (FDI) in November 2024, bringing the total from the start of the year to 1.8 billion USD, according to the municipal Department of Planning and Investment.

Specifically, about 1.2 billion USD was poured into 258 new projects in the January – November period, while 283.2 million USD was added to 180 existing projects, and 341.1 million USD was spent by 213 foreign investors through contributing capital and purchasing shares.
In November, Hanoi had 2,095 newly established enterprises with a combined registered capital of 31.9 trillion VND, a decrease of 22% in the number of companies and 48.6% in capital year-on-year.
Meanwhile, as many as 651 businesses resumed their operation, up 7.1% compared to the same period last year, and 1,074 others registered to temporarily suspend operations, 7.7% higher than that of the same period last year.
A total of 434 businesses dissolved, up 44.2% over the same period last year.
In the eleven months this year, Hanoi granted certificates to 27,100 newly established enterprises with registered capital of 276.7 trillion VND, down 6.9% in number of companies and 13.8% in registered capital compared to the same period last year.
As many as 9,100 enterprises resumed operations, up 12.7%; 22,500 enterprises registered to temporarily suspend operations, up 18.2%; more than 4,300 enterprises dissolved, up 29.2%. The rate of online business registration applications was maintained at 100%, ensuring quality and timeliness./.
