Hanoi delegation pays working trip to UK for boosting cooperation

The delegation worked with a number of agencies in London on planning, planning management, conservation of works of historical and cultural value, waste and wastewater treatment, environmental protection, and public transport.

Also in London, the delegation worked with the World Smart Cities Forum.

The World Smart Cities Forum is a non-profit organization established to assist city governments in solving urban development problems through smart city construction and development.

During the meeting with the World Smart Cities Forum Chairman Jaewon Peter Chun, he introduced the forum's goals, models and technology applications in building smart cities in the world.

Speaking at the meeting, Chairman of the Hanoi People's Council Nguyen Ngoc Tuan said that the information at the meeting was very meaningful and practical, especially for big cities like Hanoi in the process of urban development. He added he wished that the World Smart Cities Forum will continue to consult for Hanoi city in the construction and development of a smart city.

Also within the framework of the business trip in the UK, the Hanoi delegation visited and worked with officials and employees of the Vietnamese Embassy in the UK.

Ambassador to the UK Nguyen Hoang Long expressed his pleasure and appreciated the purpose and significance of the Hanoi delegation's business trip, and emphasized the development in the relationship between Vietnam and the UK, especially in the context that the two countries are aiming to celebrate the 50th anniversary of diplomatic relations in 2023. “This will open up opportunities for comprehensive cooperation in the coming time, including Hanoi and Ho Chi Minh City, with localities in the UK, especially in the fields of investment, trade, import-export, urban development, information technology, digital transformation, education and training,” he said, suggesting that Hanoi study to implement cultural exchange and cooperation activities with London.

Chairman of the City People's Council Nguyen Ngoc Tuan suggested that the Vietnamese Embassy in the UK continue to promote the image of Hanoi capital to international friends; enhance friendly relations between Hanoi and localities; and strengthen investment promotion and cooperation in various fields./.
