Hanoi targets over 1,000 supporting industry businesses by 2025

(CPV) - Vice Chairman of the Hanoi People's Committee Nguyen Manh Quyen has just signed and issued Plan No. 301/KH-UBND on the Supporting Industry Development Program in Hanoi in 2025.

The plan aims to specify the orientations, goals and tasks of the Supporting Industry Development Program in Hanoi for the 2020-2025 period to ensure practicality and efficiency; promote industrial production according to the supply chain, global value chain, promote supply linkages in the key economic region in the Northern region and across the country.

At the same time, the city promotes attracting investment from all economic sectors in the supporting industry sector to increase the quantity and quality of enterprises operating in the supporting industry sector; strengthening the attraction of supporting industrial enterprises to the supporting industrial park and industrial parks in South Hanoi, high-tech parks, and industrial clusters that have been investing in building technical infrastructure.

Accordingly, Hanoi strives to have over 1,000 enterprises operating in the supporting industrial sector by 2025; about 40% of supporting industrial enterprises will have production systems and products that meet international standards, with sufficient supply capacity to participate in the global production network of multinational corporations in Vietnam. In addition, the industrial development index of the supporting industrial sector will increase by 12%.

Connecting and assisting supporting industrial businesses will become product suppliers for domestic and foreign customers; attracting foreign investment in the supporting industrial sector; organizing seminars to promote domestic and foreign investment; and promoting and publicizing supporting industrial activities in Hanoi.

Hanoi will also focus on supporting businesses to apply management systems that meet the requirements of global production chains in corporate governance and production management: organizing training for officials and managers of supporting industry businesses in Hanoi; assessing the ability and demand to apply standards and management systems in production at enterprises; supporting the assessment and recognition of corporate governance and production management systems; supporting research and development, technology application, transfer and innovation in the trial production of components, spare parts, raw materials and materials./.
