Hanoi's seven-month retail sales of consumer goods hit over 300 trillion VND

(CPV) - Hanoi’s retail sales of goods reached 301.6 trillion VND in the first seven months of 2024, accounting for 63.5% of the total and increasing by 10.1% compared to the same period, according to the City Statistics Office.

Specifically, the Hanoi Statistics Office said that in July, the work of stabilizing prices of goods and consumer services, strengthening the connection between supply and demand of goods, ensuring food safety, and meeting people’s needs continued to receive the city’s attention and direction.

Total retail sales of goods and consumer service revenue in July were estimated at VND69.9 trillion, up 2.3% from the previous month and up 12.7% over the same period in 2023.

Of which, retail sales of goods reached VND43.3 trillion, up 2.4% from the previous month and up 12.9% over the same period in 2023. Similarly, hotel and restaurant revenue reached VND9.6 trillion, up 2.7% and up 5.2%; tourism revenue posted VND2.5 trillion, up 1.3% and up 39.1%; and other service revenue was estimated at VND14.5 trillion, up 1.6% and up 13.9%.

Over the past seven months of 2024, total retail sales of goods and consumer service revenue reached VND475.3 trillion, up 10.3% over the same period in 2023.

Of which, retail sales of goods reached VND301.6 trillion, accounting for 63.5% of the total and up 10.1%. Specifically, revenue of gemstones and precious metals increased by 38%; food and foodstuffs rose by 12.3%; garments soared by 9.6%; wood and construction materials surged by 8.4%; gasoline went up by 7% and other goods increased by 13.4%./.
