This event aimed to help businesses and entities in Hanoi to capture global market trends, expand export markets, and have the opportunity to promote handicrafts, craft village products, and OCOP products from Hanoi - Vietnam to the European and global markets.
Within the program, the Hanoi DARD organized key activities such as the "Hanoi - Vietnam" exhibition booth, held from August 27 to 29, 2024, and a trade connection workshop between Hanoi businesses and distribution systems in Europe, Northern Europe, and Sweden.
The "Hanoi - Vietnam" booth at the fair is specially designed with the theme: "Hanoi Craft Villages - Traditional Values - Modern Design" that deeply reflects the cultural heritage of Thang Long - Dong Do - Hanoi - Vietnam.
The Hanoi booth covers an area of 90 square meters, located within the Vietnam exhibition area, gathering 10 enterprises that produce strong, export potential products with competitive capabilities in the Swedish, Northern European, and European markets. The products included decorative ceramics, household ceramics; baskets, rugs, decorative items, kitchenware; hand-quilted blankets, decorative pillows, handbags, wallets, fabric coasters, fabric placemats; fabric accessories like laptop covers, phone cases, glasses cases, decorative items; trays, baskets, lampshades made from rattan, bamboo, seagrass, water hyacinth; and silk products.
At the workshop, over 500 exquisite handicraft products from Hanoi, represented by 10 businesses from the capital's craft villages, were introduced and connected to the Swedish, Northern European, and European markets.
As part of the workshop, a signing ceremony took place between Hanoi DARD - Vietnam and Lund University (Sweden) regarding a 2025 design cooperation program. This detailed the coordination in product design in order to meet export needs to the European market and invite the leadership of Lund University (Sweden) and European businesses to attend the International Craft Village Preservation and Development Festival organized by Hanoi in 2025.
The 2024 Formex Sweden International Handicraft Fair is the largest annual event in Northern Europe, featuring the participation of national pavilions from the Netherlands, Denmark, Norway, France, Spain, Germany, Colombia, Japan, Qatar and more.
The fair gathers buyers, agents, designers, manufacturers and media from both domestic and international sectors in interior design, handicraft products and gifts./.
