(CPV) - Hanoi and many other excellent localities and organizations were honored with many titles at the 31st World Travel Awards ceremony for Asia and Oceania recently held in Manila, the Philippines.

On September 9, the Hanoi Department of Tourism announced that the city received three awards: “Asia’s Leading City Destination”, “Asia’s Leading City Break Destination” and “Vietnam’s Leading City Cultural Destination” at the World Travel Awards for Asia and Oceania.
Surpassing many excellent nominations, this is the third time Hanoi has been honored in the category of “Asia's Leading City Destination” (in 2022, 2023 and 2024). This demonstrates Hanoi’s position as a leading tourist destination in Asia and the strong rise of the capital on the regional map. At the same time, Hanoi won the category of “Asia’s Leading City Break Destination” for the second time (in 2023 and 2024), affirming its attractiveness to domestic and foreign tourists.
Notably, 2024 marks Hanoi’s first victory in the category of “Vietnam’s Leading City Cultural Destination”. With more than 1,000 years of history, Hanoi converges the quintessence of Vietnamese culture, becoming an ideal destination for tourists who love to explore culture and history.
Not only its rich heritage system, Hanoi stands out thanks to the continuous development of tourism infrastructure, services and high-quality tourism products, meeting the diverse demand of domestic and foreign tourists. These proud achievements not only enhance Hanoi’s image in the region, but also contribute to promoting Vietnam’s tourism image internationally.
By receiving three tourism awards, Hanoi affirms its sustainable tourism development strategy and efforts in preserving heritage values; at the same time, promoting tourism and cultural activities associated with modern development, aiming to become a global destination and attract more tourists from all over the world.
The capital’s tourism industry will continue to implement many groups of tasks to restore and develop tourism in the coming time. In particular, it will focus on building new and attractive tourism products and boosting popularization and promotion of destinations for each market; enhancing the application of digital technology and organizing promotional activities throughout the year, contributing to the sustainable development of the tourism industry./.
