On September 9, on behalf of the Standing Committee of the Hanoi Party Committee, Secretary Bui Thi Minh Hoai concluded the discussions on the efforts to assist in the aftermath of Storm No. 3. She requested that the Vietnam Fatherland Front Committee of Hanoi coordinate with the City People’s Committee to urgently implement the emergency aid for the provinces and cities heavily affected by the storm.
Hanoi will provide aid of VND5 billion each to nine provinces and cities that suffered significant damage, including Hai Phong and the provinces of Quang Ninh, Bac Giang, Phu Tho, Thai Nguyen, Yen Bai, Lao Cai, Cao Bang, and Lang Son. Additionally, Bac Ninh and Vinh Phuc will receive VND3 billion each. The total aid amount for the provinces and cities is VND51 billion.
The Standing Committee of the Hanoi Party Committee has directed the Vietnam Fatherland Front Committee of Hanoi to swiftly issue a call for donations and to complete the necessary procedures to ensure timely assistance for the provinces and cities, focusing on helping the affected citizens.
During the meeting, Hanoi’s leadership also reached a consensus not to accept support from the central government or other localities, instead prioritizing resources for the more severely and disadvantaged affected areas. Hanoi will rely on its own internal resources to support its residents, including welfare support and a special program to assist in the recovery of production activities.
At the meeting, members of the Hanoi Party Committee, and other attendees contributed donations to support people in provinces and cities affected by Storm No. 3./.
