HCM City establishes 2 management boards for Thu Thiem and Northwest urban areas

Chairman of the Ho Chi Minh City People’s Committee Phan Van Mai has just signed a decision to establish two management boards in the key urban areas of Thu Thiem and the Northwest on the basis of merging centers and reorganizing existing management boards, according to the Portal of the city People’s Committee.

The Northwest Urban Development Area Management Board’s new head office is located in Tan An Hoi commune, Cu Chi district.

The Management Board has the function of helping the city People’s Committee manage urban development investment in the Northwest urban area, including managing and supervising the process of urban development investment according to the master plan and plan; and ensuring the synchronous connection and management of the framework technical infrastructure system.

It will formulate 5-year and annual plans for the implementation of the Northwest urban development area; and propose the list, types of capital sources and implementation roadmap of projects and a number of other tasks.

The Thu Thiem Urban Development Area Management Board has the same function as the Northwest Urban Development Area Management Board.

The city People's Committee requires the handover to be completed within 6 months from the date of decision.

The old boards and centers cease to operate after this time, and only use the seal until the time of completion and handover to the new management.

According to Vietnam News Agency, the Thu Thiem New Urban Area Investment and Construction Management Board was established in 2001, and three years later, the Northwest Urban Area Construction and Investment Management Board was formed./.
