The credit package was announced by Mr. Nguyen Duc Lenh, Deputy Director of the State Bank of Vietnam, Ho Chi Minh City branch, on March 21.

According to the plan, 20 banking brands registered for preferential credit packages, with a scale of 453.07 trillion VND, up 4% compared to the credit package in 2022.

Lenh said that the registration and disbursement of credit packages through the bank-enterprise connection program is important and practical. This program is associated with the preferential credit policy mechanism of the State Bank of Vietnam (SBV) and the credit policy for customers of credit institutions.

In addition, the program also supports businesses to grow and develop with reasonable loan interest rates; short-term loans in VND for 5 priority groups of industries; foreign currency loans (according to regulations of the SBV); assistance loans of 2% interest rate according to Decree 31 of the Government; and loans to stimulate investment and support interest rates of the City People’s Committee.

A representative of the SBV’s branch in HCM City added that the scale of the program is increasingly expanding after many years of implementation.

Compared to the total capital mobilization in the city, the size of preferential credit packages for credit institutions registering for the program in 2023 will account for about 14%. This is an impressive number for a business support program./.
