According to Chairwoman of the Vietnam Fatherland Front Committee of Ho Chi Minh City, Tran Kim Yen, most of the islands in the Truong Sa Archipelago have a small area, the soil is mainly sand and crushed coral, and they are subject to a harsh, hot and humid climate, so it is very difficult to grow plants. However, the planting of trees to build the landscape is identified as one of the key tasks of the island.
She added that Ho Chi Minh City has launched a campaign in support of a fund for the homeland’s seas and islands to carry out the program “For Green Truong Sa” for the 2023-2025 period, in order to improve the soil, grow green vegetables and plants, especially wave-break plants, and increase the density of tree coverage on the islands, contributing to improving the landscape, environment and green space.
“Every contribution, every sharing is very precious, it is a positive action, with human value and deep meaning. Every citizen of our city, let's join hands to support with the message "Ho Chi Minh City is always towards Truong Sa! All for dear Truong Sa!”, Ms. Yen shared./.
