Ho Chi Minh City supports cooperation with Australia’s New South Wales

He made the statement on May 23 while receiving Governor of Australia’s New South Wales Margaret Beazley.

During the reception, Mr. Nen thanked Australia for supplying a timely and valuable source of COVID-19 vaccine to help Ho Chi Minh City as well as Vietnam overcome the COVID-19 pandemic.

Highly appreciating Australia's investment projects in Vietnam, including 280 investment projects in Ho Chi Minh City, he also emphasized the results of cooperation in the field of training.

Affirming that the potential for opportunities to promote cooperation between Vietnam and Australia is still great, he expressed his hope that New South Wales Governor Margaret Beazley's working visit to Vietnam will contribute to promoting cooperation programs between the two sides.

Sharing some information about Ho Chi Minh City, he said that as the city is in need of human resource training, digital transformation, digital economy development, and transportation infrastructure development, he expressed his hope that New South Wales as well as Australia will pay attention to support cooperation with Ho Chi Minh City in these fields, thus contributing to strengthening the good cooperation relationship between Ho Chi Minh City and New South Wales, as well as between Vietnam and Australia, in the coming time.

Governor of New South Wales Margaret Beazley expressed her pleasure to visit Ho Chi Minh City. She highly appreciated Vietnam's results in the fight against the COVID-19 pandemic, including the impressive rate of vaccination against COVID-19.

Appreciating the results achieved in bilateral trade between Australia and Vietnam in 2022, she expressed her belief that trade cooperation between the two countries will increase in the context of the economic recovery after the COVID-19 pandemic.

Sharing Australia's information model and training model as well as New South Wales' potential for cooperation, she said that New South Wales wishes to strengthen its cooperation relationship with Ho Chi Minh City in various potential areas./.
