Ho Chi Minh City willing to further promote cooperation with Malaysia

On June 13, Chairman of the Ho Chi Minh City People's Committee Phan Van Mai had a meeting with Mr. Dato Tan Yang Thai, Malaysian Ambassador to Vietnam, during his business trip to Ho Chi Minh City.

During the meeting, Chairman of the Ho Chi Minh City People's Committee Phan Van Mai expressed his pleasure to welcome Ambassador Dato Tan Yang Thai to Ho Chi Minh City, and affirmed that Ho Chi Minh City is always ready to cooperate with the Ambassador to further promote the cooperation relationship between the two countries.
He expressed his honor and pride to work with the Malaysian Ambassador in organizing activities to celebrate the 50th anniversary of diplomatic relations between Vietnam and Malaysia in Ho Chi Minh City. “This is an important event, contributing to the well-developed trade, investment and tourism cooperation between the two sides,” he said, adding that the city always hopes to contribute more and play a more important role in the relationship between the two countries.
Regarding cooperation, he said that investment and trade turnover between the two sides are at a high level. He expressed his hope that that Ambassador Dato Tan Yang Thai will support to further promote bilateral cooperation in trade, tourism, people-to-people diplomacy, cultural diplomacy, education and health, for mutal development.
Malaysian Ambassador to Vietnam Dato Tan Yang Thai shared that this is the second time he has come to Ho Chi Minh City after taking on the role of an ambassador. He affirmed that he will do his best to further develop and tighten the relationship between the two countries. He added that he chose Ho Chi Minh City as the first destination to carry out activities to celebrate the 50th anniversary of diplomatic relations between the two countries because there are a large number of Malaysian businesses in the city. “I hope that the activities of Malaysia Madani Ho Chi Minh City Week would contribute to further strengthening the relationship between the two countries, as well as between Ho Chi Minh City and Malaysia,” he said./.
