The event will be organised by the Embassy of Mexico in Vietnam and local restaurants to mark the 213th anniversary of the Independence of Mexico and savour Mexico’s gastronomy, declared an Intangible World Heritage by UNESCO in 2010.
It is expected to draw the participation of several restaurants based in Ho Chi Minh City which feature the diversity of Mexican cuisine, including District Federal, Agave Saigon, Xolo Tequila Bar, Tacos Fuego, Gringo Tacos y Cantina, and Tippy's Mexican Food.
The week provides an opportunity for visitors to savor the authentic taste of Mexican food, as well as learning about its rich cultural heritage.
In 2010, the UNESCO included Mexican cuisine on their Representative List of the Intangible Cultural Heritage of Humanity.
Mexico’s traditional cuisine is the first ethnic cuisine in the world to be honoured with the UNESCO title./.
