Southern hub to reinforce cultural exchanges and cooperation with Belarus

Welcoming the working visit of the First Deputy Minister of Culture of Belarus, Mr. Duc expressed his pleasure at the good development in all fields in the relationship between Vietnam and Belarus in the 31 years of diplomatic relations, especially in the fields of science and technology.

On the basis of the good relationship between the two countries, in 2008, Ho Chi Minh and Minsk Cities signed a friendship cooperation agreement, and in the ensuing 15 years, the two localities have had many activities to exchange delegations, strengthen cooperation in diverse areas, contributing to improving understanding, solidarity and friendship between the peoples of the two countries.

Welcoming the signing of development cooperation between the Ministry of Culture, Sports and Tourism of Vietnam and the Ministry of Culture of Belarus for the period of 2023-2025, Mr. Duc said that Ho Chi Minh City wished to participate in and contribute to the implementation of cultural development cooperation agreements between the two countries. In addition, the city is willing to coordinate with relevant agencies in organizing cultural diplomatic events of Belarus in Ho Chi Minh City; first, the programs within the framework of the Cultural Days of the Republic of Belarus in Vietnam organized by the Ministry of Culture and Sports and Tourism of Vietnam in collaboration with the Belarusian Ministry of Culture.

First Deputy Minister of Culture of the Republic of Belarus Valery Gromada emphasized that the opening of the Consulate General of Belarus in Ho Chi Minh City in 2022 was the clearest proof of the interest and importance in developing the cooperation relationship between Belarus and Vietnam as well as Ho Chi Minh City.

He expressed his belief that Belarus and Vietnam have many similarities in history and culture, potential for developing cultural cooperation through the organization of cultural events introducing music, cinema and exhibitions on culture.

He added he hoped that Ho Chi Minh City will soon organize Ho Chi Minh City Day in Minsk City, a locality of Belarus that is twinned with Ho Chi Minh City, thereby introducing Vietnamese culture and people as well as its potential and development to the people of Belarus./.
