ASEAN Square inaugurated

The ASEAN Square was built at the main campus of the Diplomatic Academy with the main architecture bearing the symbol of ASEAN. The inauguration of the ASEAN Square has profound educational significance for the academy’s students about the importance of ASEAN, as well as the spirit of proactive, positive and responsible international integration, demonstrating Vietnam's commitments in ASEAN cooperation.

The Inauguration Ceremony of ASEAN Square and the Dialogue between ASEAN Secretary General Kao Kim Hourn and the youth of ASEAN countries not only demonstrate the importance of ASEAN cooperation but also create an open forum where the young generation of ASEAN can share their voice and perspectives in shaping the future of the region.

This was part of the "ASEAN Future Forum 2024" (AFF 2024) taking place on April 23 in Hanoi.

Previously, in the Dialogue program between ASEAN Secretary General Kao Kim Hourn and the youth of ASEAN countries, ASEAN Secretary General Kao Kim Hourn affirmed that the Dialogue will promote important exchange opportunities for the participation of ASEAN countries’ youth and empower the next generation of leaders, towards meaningful contributions to the ASEAN Community and other goals.

According to the Secretary General of ASEAN, in 2020, the number of young people in ASEAN reached 224 million people, accounting for about 34% of the region's population. This demonstrates the enormous potential of this young population in shaping the socio-economic development landscape and continued growth of the ASEAN region.

Appreciating Vietnam's contributions to supporting the process of implementing ASEAN volunteer activities, the Secretary General of ASEAN emphasized the importance of promoting and expanding these activities, creating opportunities for young people to participate and express their ideas. This is an opportunity for young people to express their ideas and aspirations, promoting their important role in solving the current challenges of the world.
