During the meeting, Mayor Xiao Min expressed her gratitude for the warm welcome from Bac Ninh's leaders. She introduced Tianmen as a city with an area of over 2,600 square kilometers and a population of 1.6 million. As a member of the Wuhan metropolitan area and one of China’s top 100 economic counties, Tianmen is recognized for its strong garment industry, electronics manufacturing and black tea production, generating an annual GDP of around USD14 billion. The city is currently focused on rapid, synchronized development in four main areas: industrialization, urbanization, modern agriculture and green growth.
Mayor Xiao Min expressed her admiration for Bac Ninh’s impressive socio-economic development, particularly in infrastructure building, business environment improvement, foreign investment attraction and social welfare. She expressed her hope for future comprehensive cooperation between Bac Ninh and Tianmen in fields such as culture, investment, business, trade, vocational training, healthcare, high-tech agriculture and local government management practices, to benefit both nations.
On behalf of the provincial leadership, Deputy Chairman Le Xuan Loi warmly welcomed the opportunity for collaboration with Tianmen's government and business community. He provided the delegation with an overview of Bac Ninh's geographic location, cultural heritage and remarkable achievements over the past 27 years. Bac Ninh has emerged as a leader in several national indicators, including export value, total foreign direct investment (FDI), GDP per capita, workforce training rate and state budget contributions.
To date, Bac Ninh has issued investment licenses for over 2,400 active FDI projects, with a total capital of USD29.3 billion from 41 countries and territories. Of these, China has 737 projects with a combined investment of USD1.41 billion. Chinese enterprises have created significant employment and contributed substantially to Bac Ninh's socio-economic growth.
The Deputy Chairman highlighted the similarities between Bac Ninh and Tianmen, noting that this meeting would open up various opportunities for collaboration in key areas such as electronics, clean energy, high-tech agriculture and workforce training. “Bac Ninh is committed to providing the best possible conditions for companies from all countries, including China, to explore and invest for long-term success in the province,” he said./.
