Can Tho City promotes multi-field cooperation with Singaporean partners

He made the statement on November 24 while receiving Mr. Jaya Ratnam, Singaporean Ambassador to Vietnam.

During the reception, he thanked Singaporean Ambassador to Vietnam Jaya Ratnam and the Singaporean Consulate General in Ho Chi Minh City for supporting and enthusiastically promoting the implementation of the Vietnam - Singapore Vinh Thanh Industrial Park project in Can Tho City (VSIP Can Tho), considering this an important milestone in the good cooperation relationship between the two countries.

He suggested the Ambassador continue to pay attention to and introduce Singapore businesses and investors to Can Tho to cooperate and invest in many fields in the coming time, especially in the fields of logistics, health care, education and tourism. The two sides also discussed many contents about opening a direct flight from Can Tho city to Singapore; organizing an investment promotion workshop with Singaporean enterprises in Can Tho City; and promoting multi-field cooperation in the coming time.

Singaporean Ambassador Jaya Ratnam highly appreciated the potential and strengths of Can Tho City, and affirmed that this will be a potential destination for Singaporean investors in the near future. Towards the 50th anniversary of diplomatic relations and the 10th anniversary of the Vietnam - Singapore strategic partnership in 2023, Mr. Jaya Ratnam wished that the two countries in general, and Singapore and Can Tho City in particular, would organize many meaningful activities to commemorate this important event, contributing to further tightening the friendship and good cooperation between the two countries.

Regarding the VSIP Can Tho Industrial Park project, Mr. Jaya Ratnam said that Singapore expects through the project to accompany the city in its goal of becoming a food processing and distribution center, developing major infrastructure in the Mekong Delta region, and actively contributing to the socio-economic development of the locality./.
