Can Tho collaborates with 40 foreign NGOs, attracting over USD2.8 million in aid

Since 2023, the Can Tho City People's Committee has approved 24 aid packages, programs and projects, including both project and non-project activities funded by foreign organizations, individuals and non-governmental organizations (NGOs), totaling over USD2.8 million.

The Can Tho Union of Friendship Organizations and its affiliated friendship associations have conducted 23 programs and projects, while also facilitating, connecting and vetting additional initiatives from foreign government agencies and potential donors. These new projects are collectively valued at nearly VND63 billion.
This information was shared on November 7 during a working session with the Committee for Foreign NGO Affairs (COMINGO), led by Nguyen Ngoc Hung, Vice President of the Vietnam Union of Friendship Organizations and Deputy Head of COMINGO, who met with various foreign NGOs active in Can Tho City.
According to the report presented, around 40 foreign NGOs are currently implementing 44 programs and projects in Can Tho City. Overall, these projects not only address local needs but also provide practical benefits to the target beneficiaries, contributing to sustainable socio-economic development in the region.
At the meeting, participants exchanged insights into the operations of foreign NGOs in the city and the cooperation between these organizations and local authorities. Discussions also focused on current challenges and proposed measures to enhance the management, mobilization, and attraction of foreign NGO aid in Can Tho City./.
