This marks the second year that Nghe An’s No. 2 Provincial Boarding High School has welcomed Lao students from the six localities of Huaphanh, Xiengkhouang, Bolikhamxay, Khammuan, Savannakhet and Vientiane to study at the school. According to the program plan, after one year of learning Vietnamese, the students will continue with the Vietnamese high school curriculum and an internationally standardized advanced program over the next three years.

At the ceremony, Principal Ho Quoc Viet expressed the school’s honor in being entrusted by the Party and the government with the education and training of Lao high school students. He affirmed that the school’s faculty and students are committed to fostering the tradition of academic excellence, dedicating themselves to teaching and learning, and providing comprehensive care to meet the goals of the 2024-2025 school year successfully.

“Our school is a nurturing environment that upholds the special, enduring solidarity between Vietnam and Laos for future generations,” said Principal Ho Quoc Viet. “Our more than 700 students will be here to offer love, support and assistance to Lao students as they face challenges while studying far from their families and home.”

During the ceremony, representatives of both Vietnamese and Lao students shared words of camaraderie, expressing mutual support in their studies and daily life.

Since 2012, Nghe An has allocated more than VND170 billion to support the education of Lao officials, students and trainees. In addition, Nghe An has provided scholarships to 1,157 Lao students and officials for training at universities and colleges in the province.

These human resource training initiatives have helped Lao provinces develop a qualified workforce to meet their current needs, while also strengthening and promoting cooperative relations in all areas between Nghe An and Lao provinces and between the two countries of Vietnam and Laos overall./.
