(CPV) – The working session opened up great prospects for cooperation, investment and development of the semiconductor chip industry for Vietnam in general and Ho Chi Minh City in particular, in which the City High-Tech Park plays a pioneering role.
Mr. John Neuffer, President and CEO of the Semiconductor Industry Association (SIA), along with businesses Intel, Synopsys, Ampere Computing, and Marvell listened to a report on the operations of the Intel Vietnam factory.

On December 8, in Ho Chi Minh City, Associate Professor, Dr. Nguyen Anh Thi, Head of the Ho Chi Minh City High-Tech Park Management Board, hosted a reception for Mr. John Neuffer, President and CEO of the Semiconductor Industry Association (SIA),along with businesses Intel, Synopsys, Ampere Computing, Marvell.

At the event, the Management Board introduced Ho Chi Minh City High-Tech Park, visited the Intel Vietnam factory, and the Electronics and Semiconductor Center (ESC), which is a cooperation model between SHTP Training Center and Sun Edu International Education Joint Stock Company (SunEdu). At ESC, the delegation visited two classes training on IC design on the EDA software platform of Sysnopsys and Cadence. Mr. John Neuffer highly appreciated this training model which has a very important meaning in the development of the semiconductor chip field and is a good environment to attract investment and is recommended to continue promoting.

Ho Chi Minh City Hi-Tech Park was established on October 24, 2002. Over the past 20 years of establishment and development, the Hi-Tech Park has currently occupies 85% of the land area, with 160 projects and total investment capital of more than 12 billion USD (including more than 10.1 billion USD/51 FDI projects and nearly 2 billion USD/109 domestic investment projects).

The high-tech park has a vision that by 2045 it will become a science-technology and innovation sub-urban area, the nucleus and new growth engine of the southern key economic region and the whole country.

So far, 570 foreign science and technology experts and overseas Vietnamese experts have been working at the High-Tech Park. 20 overseas Vietnamese experts return Vietnam to work under the collaborator mechanism, 5 experts work under the Ho Chi Minh City's mechanism to attract experts.

Mr. John Neuffer, President and CEO of the American Semiconductor Industry Association (SIA), and businesses Intel, Synopsys, Ampere Computing, and Marvell visited the Center for Electronics and Semiconductor Circuits.

With the message that Hi-Tech Park is the best environment for the semiconductor chip industry, such as a strategic location with traffic connections, complete infrastructure, flexible incentive policies, and especially the advantage of ready for high-quality human resources and a developed industry ecosystem, the High-Tech Park is the chosen location for IC companies to establish IC research and design centers, chip packaging and testing factories. Mr. John Neuffer and SIA Members highly appreciated the investment environment of the High-Tech Park.

The working session opened up great prospects for cooperation, investment, and development of the semiconductor chip industry for Vietnam in general and the City in particular, in which the City High-Tech Park plays a pioneering role./.
