Ho Chi Minh City - Singapore strengthen cooperation in urban development and infrastructure

Within the framework of the 2024 World Cities Summit (WCS) in Singapore, from June 3 to June 5, the Ho Chi Minh City delegation led by Pham Thanh Kien, Vice Chairman of the People's Council Ho Chi Minh City, had a meeting with CityNet CEO and discussion with international speakers on flexible and regenerative cities; worked with the Center for Livable Cities (CLC); met with the Mayor of Darwin (Australia) to discuss cooperation opportunities between the two cities in the future.

Accordingly, on June 5, the delegation attended the Vietnam Project Discussion within the framework of the Asian Infrastructure Forum (AIF). Vice Chairman of the People's Council Pham Thanh Kien said that this is an important event in promoting connections between investors, consultants and parties wishing to develop infrastructure projects.

At the discussion, delegates exchanged experiences in developing green and sustainable infrastructure projects in the form of public-private partnerships. Ho Chi Minh City chooses green growth as its future development strategy, giving top priority to achieving economic prosperity, environmental sustainability and social justice; towards a green, carbon-neutral economy and contributing to the goal of limiting global temperature rise.

Representatives of the Ho Chi Minh City Department of Health presented to potential investors about 4 investment projects in the health sector, and discussed investors' questions about the Public - Private Partnership (PPP) mechanism for medical projects in the city.

In addition, members of the delegation also visited and surveyed the Marina Bay area, Clarke Quay area and the Singapore River area to learn about experiences in developing service infrastructure associated with river space to serve tourism and culture and night economy; and visited the urban solutions and technology exhibition area of WCS./.
