Japanese organization studies investment environment in Can Tho City

On November 17, Permanent Vice Chairman of Can Tho City People's Committee Duong Tan Hien and relevant departments and agencies had a meeting and worked with the delegation from the Japan External Trade Organization (JETRO) in Ho Chi Minh City who came to study information about the investment environment in the city.

At the meeting, Mr. Ida Koji, Deputy Chief Representative of JETRO Office in Ho Chi Minh City, expressed his desire to learn about the city’s areas of focus for calling investment, thus helping connect Japanese businesses to Can Tho to learn about investment cooperation in the region.

According to Mr. Hien, Can Tho City, with the strength of being the gateway to the whole region, has received favorable infrastructure investment from the central level to connect domestic and foreign trade. In addition to introducing the potential and advantages of the city, he informed JETRO about the key projects where the city is interested in attracting investment.

In particular, the city is focusing on inviting domestic and foreign investors, including Japanese ones, to participate in two key projects of dredging combined with product recovery of Dinh An - Can Tho maritime route and the center for production, processing and consumption of agricultural products in the Mekong Delta in Can Tho city.

He also invited Japanese businesses to invest in the city in industries and fields such as supporting industries, processing and manufacturing technology, high technology, smart technology, logistics, and projects on environment and other fields with potential to attract investment from the Japanese market.

Mr. Ida Koji pledged to make efforts to connect more and more Japanese businesses to Can Tho to learn and promote investment cooperation.

Previously, on November 8, the delegation of Can Tho City led by Pham Van Hieu, Standing Deputy Secretary of the City Party Committee and Chairman of the Can Tho City People's Council, also went to Tokyo, Japan, to carry out activities on promotion, cooperation and investment in Japan./.
