Lang Son wants to cooperate with Laos' localities in economy, trade and people-to-people exchanges

Lang Son province welcomes Lao delegations to visit and promote cooperation in such fields as economy, trade and investment, people-to-people exchange, cultural exchange, and exchange of students, connecting businesses and cooperatives between the two sides.

This was the statement of Ms. Doan Thu Ha, Vice Chairwoman of the People's Committee of Lang Son province, at the meeting with the delegation of the Lao Embassy in Vietnam led by Ambassador Sengphet Houngboungnuang on May 18. The delegation visited and worked in Lang Son province to exchange and introduce the situation of socio-economic development and cooperation between the two sides.

Ms. Doan Thu Ha said that, despite being a province located relatively far from Laos, in recent years Lang Son has always valued and wished to develop exchange and cooperation relations with Lao localities.

With an overview of the socio-economic development situation and the potentials and strengths of Lang Son in international cooperation and border trade activities, Ms. Ha expressed her hope that in the coming time, the two sides will continue to cooperate with each other to promote exchanges and cooperation. “Lang Son province always encourages and creates conditions for agencies, organizations and businesses of the two sides to connect and deploy practical exchange and cooperation activities,” she said.

Speaking at the meeting, Ambassador Sengphet Houngboungnuang expressed his impression of historical traditions, cultural values, as well as achievements in economic development, especially the border gate economy of Lang Son province over the past time.

He added he hoped that Lang Son would continue to have close cooperation and coordination to promote friendship and special solidarity with Lao localities; and continue to cultivate the colorful relationship between the two Parties and the two States. In particular, Lang Son creates favorable conditions for goods of Lao enterprises to be sold at duty-free shops in the border areas of the province./.
