More direct flights from Da Nang to India to be promoted

Mr. Sandeep Arya, Indian Ambassador to Vietnam, said that he would persuade Vietnamese airlines to soon promote the opening of more direct flights from Da Nang to some Indian localities for boosting investment, trade and tourism cooperation.

On March 15, Mr. Nguyen Van Quang, Secretary of Da Nang City Party Committee, had a meeting with Indian Ambassador to Vietnam Sandeep Arya.

Da Nang city currently has 3 direct flight routes from Da Nang to Indian localities, including New Delhi, Mumbai and Ahmedabad. The number of Indian tourists to Da Nang and vice versa has increased sharply.

Da Nang is in the time of tourism recovery after opening with positive growth from the Indian market. India is among the top 10 international tourist markets in Da Nang. Currently, the city is focusing its resources on developing and promoting its brand name for golf tourism and wedding tourism. Da Nang city is an ideal destination for high-class travel and is the wedding venue of Indian billionaires.

“There are many activities where we can cooperate with each other in the field of tourism. All of these activities benefit from direct flights between Da Nang and India. Famous Indian hotel groups present in countries around the world will have the opportunity to open branches in Da Nang to serve tourism development. The Embassy of India is very pleased to connect and open Indian hotels in Da Nang to develop tourism," said Mr. Sandeep Arya.

For his part, Mr. Nguyen Van Quang, Secretary of the Da Nang City Party Committee, said that Da Nang has great potential and opportunities to cooperate with India. He expressed his wish that the Indian Ambassador would pay attention to and act as a bridge to promote investment cooperation in the fields of urban infrastructure, development of high-tech industry, information technology, pharmacy, health care and tourism in Da Nang city.

Meanwhile, the city committed to select potential issues that are feasible to prioritize cooperation with India in the near future.

"India has strengths in investment in infrastructure, urban areas, information technology development and pharmaceutical industry. Da Nang has many favorable conditions to connect trade with localities of India, and promote cooperative relations in investment, trade, tourism, education and cultural exchange activities," he said./.
