On January 15, a high-ranking delegation of the National Assembly of the Republic of Korea led by Chairman Kim Jin Pyo visited and worked in Ninh Binh.

Welcoming the delegation, Nguyen Thi Thu Ha, Secretary of the Provincial Party Committee, informed them of the province’s Party building and socio-economic development.

According to Ms Ha, currently, Ninh Binh has 41 foreign direct investment (FDI) projects from Korean investors, accounting for 27.08 % of the total number of FDI projects in the province, with a total registered capital of over USD413 million.

She added that Korean FDI projects have operated effectively, making great contributions to economic growth and bringing great revenue to the state budget, as well as creating many jobs for local workers.

Provincial agencies and units have signed 13 cooperation agreements with Korean partners, of which 11 are still valid.

Korean partners have helped promote and introduce the image of Ninh Binh province to a large number of Korean people, thereby promoting exchanges and friendship between the two countries.

Korean National Assembly Chairman Kim Jin Pyo said that the RoK thanks the Vietnamese community in the RoK for not only making great contributions to Korea's economic prosperity and cultural richness, but also for playing an important role as a bridge for the future of the two countries.

He noted that the RoK has organized many activities to provide diverse services, including orientation education in the host country, 228 multicultural family support centers and a 24-hour counseling call center nationwide, and support of Vietnamese language teaching for children of multicultural families.

The Korean National Assembly has always looked for ways to protect the rights and interests of foreigners, including Vietnamese, while strengthening support for multicultural families, especially married migrant women and their children.

He emphasized that over the past 30 years, the cooperative relationship between the two countries has developed rapidly. Currently, the RoK is the largest foreign investor in Vietnam with more than 8,000 Korean enterprises investing in Vietnam. Vietnam is also the RoK's third largest trading partner.

He highly appreciated the development of Ninh Binh province in the past year and affirmed that this visit is an opportunity for the Korean National Assembly to directly discuss with the highest leaders of Vietnam the development orientation of the two countries' relations in the next 30 years.

He also suggested that in the coming time, Ninh Binh province will continue to support and create favorable conditions for Korean businesses operating in the area; ensure the safety of Korean tourists to Ninh Binh; establish a hotline with the Korean embassy to actively and proactively support Korean citizens in urgent cases; and strengthen and pay attention to the cooperation relationship to promote the development between the two sides./.
