The engineers work in the fields of electrical engineering, automation and information technology, electronics and telecommunications.

Speaking at the ceremony, Dr. Phan Xuan Dung, VUSTA President, said that VUSTA is an organization representing a team of Vietnamese scientific and technological intellectuals, with the country's largest network of member and affiliated organizations from 93 national industry associations, 63 local associations and more than 600 research institutes, science and technology organizations in diverse fields from natural sciences, social sciences, technology and engineering.

According to Mr. Vo Quang Lam, Deputy General Director of EVN, the registration of professional engineers in many countries around the world has been carried out for many years in Australia, the UK and the US. In Asia, countries such as Japan, Singapore, Malaysia, the Philippines and Indonesia have also registered professional engineers.

In many developed countries, professional engineer is considered the highest title to work. Engineers, once licensed the title, will have the opportunity to travel throughout ASEAN countries to work without having to be selected.

To be recognized, engineers must meet the minimum standards of qualifications, competence, experience and professional ethics as prescribed by the ASEAN Engineers Registration Committee, to be able to join the labor market in the region with better job prospects, more potential for research and development. Each engineer must be able to use English fluently at work, adapt and integrate quickly with diverse cultural environments in different countries in the ASEAN region./.
