The school is made of wood, including two classrooms with capacity of about 100 students. The classrooms are equipped with desks, benches and other means to help the students study well.

The school is built thanks to funds of the State Commission for Overseas Vietnamese under Vietnam’s Ministry of Foreign Affairs.

Speaking at the ceremony, Mr. Le Hoang, Head of the Vietnamese Cambodian Association in Pursat province, said that previously, overseas Vietnamese children couldn’t go to school because there was no school in the region. They now have a stable school to go to study. In addition, the overseas Vietnamese community there can take advantage of the school to organize community activities.

A Vietnamese business also presented four tonnes of rice to overseas Vietnamese and Cambodian families in difficult circumstances.

Moreover, the officials and staff of the Consulate General of Vietnam in Battambang donated and presented some equipment to help monk Thich Thien Nhan to examine and treat diseases for poor people at Long Hai pagoda, which is of the overseas Vietnamese community on the bank of Tonle Sap./.
