Flights carrying Vietnamese home to Hanoi suspended

The Ministry of Transport sent an urgent dispatch to the Civil Aviation Authority of Vietnam (CAAV) on the suspension of international flights carrying Vietnamese citizens to the Hanoi-based Noi Bai Airport starting from 0:00am on March 26th to 31st.
According to the dispatch, signed by Deputy Transport Minister Le Anh Tuan, the decision is made as quarantine facilities in Hanoi have become overloaded and unable to accommodate more people.
Earlier, Flights carrying Vietnamese home to Tan Son Nhat Airport in Ho Chi Minh City were also suspended for the same reason from March 25th.
Vietnam has recorded 148 infections, including 17 people who had been treated and discharged. The majority of the active cases are returnees from Europe and the US and those passing through pandemic-stricken areas./.
