Overseas Vietnamese in Thailand and Germany raise funds to support flood victims in central region

A ceremony was held by the Vietnamese Embassy in Thailand on November 1 organized to raise funds and receive donations from the Vietnamese community in Thailand to support flood victims in the central region to overcome the consequences of natural disasters.

According to Mr. Trinh Cao Son, Chairman of the Association of Vietnamese People in Thailand, the association launched a donation movement across all 26 member associations across Thailand and received a telling response from a large number of people.

The association presented a donation of about VND3.7 billion to the Vietnamese Embassy in Thailand to provide for flood victims in Vietnam and the donations continues to be received in the coming days.

*Meanwhile, the Vietnamese community in Germany has also held various activities to raise funds to support those affected by the flooding in the central region.

Initially, the organizers collected about 9 billion VND.

Earlier, the Vietnamese Embassy in Germany called on its staff and Vietnam’s representative agencies in Germany to make donations to assist people in central Vietnam severely hit by recent floods and landslides.

On this occasion, the embassy also called on other unions, organizations, enterprises and Vietnamese people in Germany to join hands to support flood victims in the central region./.
