Ambassadors of ASEAN nations work with Iranian Deputy Foreign Minister

At the initiative of Vietnam, which holds the role of Chairman of the ASEAN Committee in Tehran, Ambassadors of ASEAN countries in Iran on November 21 had a working lunch with Deputy Foreign Minister in charge of politics Ali Bagheri Kani.

During the meeting, the Ambassadors of ASEAN countries, including Vietnam, Brunei, Indonesia, Malaysia, the Philippines and Thailand, presented an update on the latest political developments taking place in ASEAN such as the 40th and 41st ASEAN Summit, the 25th ASEAN-China Summit, the G20 Summit, the Asia-Pacific Economic Cooperation (APEC) Summit Week and outstanding activities in bilateral relationship between ASEAN countries and Iran.
For his part, Deputy Minister Ali Bagheri Kani presented Iran's viewpoint on security issues in West Asia, human rights associated with ongoing riots in Iran, Iran's nuclear issue, terrorism and energy cooperation prospects between Iran and other countries, including ASEAN.
The two sides expressed their hope that the relations between Iran and ASEAN will continue to be strengthened, contributing to the stability and common development of the region and Asia.
Deputy Minister Ali Bagheri Kani also expressed his thanks to Vietnam for its practical initiative, contributing to promoting relations between the Iranian Ministry of Foreign Affairs and the embassies of ASEAN countries in Tehran./.
