Can Tho promotes Day for honouring Vietnamese language in overseas Vietnamese community

According to the People's Committee of Can Tho City, response activities will be organized in the city in 2024, with a focus on the Day for Honoring Vietnamese Language (September 8, 2024). Can Tho City will organize practical activities suitable to the actual conditions of the locality such as: publishing information on websites; participating in organizing activities upon notification from the Ministry of Foreign Affairs; participating in programs organized by competent authorities; and widely deploying activities in agencies, departments, branches and localities.

The province’s Department of Foreign Affairs will develop programs to promote Vietnamese language and introduce the day for honouring Vietnamese language to overseas Vietnamese in the host country during their business trips abroad; Support overseas Vietnamese to build Vietnamese bookcases abroad; recognizing individuals, families, youth’s and students’ organizations, overseas Vietnamese associations with active contributions to preserving and spreading Vietnamese language among the community and then propose the higher level to honour and award them.

The province’s Department of Culture, Sports and Tourism will organize art performance programs or incorporate content with themes related to honoring the Vietnamese language in cultural and art performance programs in 2024; creating favorable conditions for organizations, individuals and localities to organize activities that honor national culture and language./.
