According to the ambassador, Vietnam and Egypt have great potential for cooperation in fields where the two countries have strengths, such as agriculture, industry, garment and textile, logistics, aquaculture, tourism, and maritime economy. Vietnam and Egypt are striving to lift bilateral trade turnover to 1 billion USD in the coming time, said the Vietnam News Agency.
At the working session held on February 25, the Governor of Luxor wished to sign a new friendship and cooperation agreement with Ninh Binh province.
Ambassador Dung suggested the Egyptian locality strengthen cooperation with not only Ninh Binh but also other localities of Vietnam.
Mr. Alham Khaled expressed his hope that Luxor and Ninh Binh will enhance cooperation in agriculture, education, and tourism. He also called on Vietnamese businesses to increase investment in industrial parks of Luxor.
The Ambassador and the Governor suggested that the countries create favourable conditions for travel firms from both sides to open representative offices and promote tourism promotion activities in each other's territories.
On the same day, a workshop was jointly held by the Vietnamese Embassy in Egypt and the Chamber of Commerce in Luxor to further promote cooperative relations in fields of economics, trade, investment, tourism, culture, agriculture, and education between the two countries, and their localities.
At the workshop, the Vietnamese Ambassador introduced Vietnam's economic situation and investment attraction policies, while calling on businesses from both countries to expand connections to better understand the market and seek opportunities for business cooperation.
