The medical equipment has been transported to Vietnam and received by the Vietnam Fatherland Front Standing Committee of Ho Chi Minh City.
According to the Vietnam News Agency correspondent in Berlin, at the hand-over ceremony, representatives of the two German companies shared about the complicated developments of the pandemic in Vietnam in general and Ho Chi Minh City in particular.
Mr. Horst Geicke, President of German House Co., Ltd. based in Ho Chi Minh City, expressed his hope that the support of the two companies as well as other companies and German friends will contribute to helping Ho Chi Minh City to push back the COVID-19 pandemic.
Ambassador Nguyen Minh Vu thanked German House Co., Ltd. and Techtronic Industries Co., Ltd. for responding to the Embassy's call to donate medical equipment to Vietnam, expressing appreciation for the sentiments that German and international businesses and friends have given Vietnam during this difficult period.
The Ambassador expressed his belief that, with the tireless efforts of the Government, local adminstrations and domestic authorities, along with the cooperation and contribution of international friends, Vietnam will soon control the pandemic.
The Ambassador hopes that German businesses will continue to accompany Vietnam to overcome the current difficult period; and at the same time continue to feel secure to invest and do business in Vietnam.
Over the past time, Vietnam has received a total of nearly 3.5 million doses of vaccine donated by the German Government. In addition, the German Government has also pledged to support Vietnam with medical equipment worth about 20 billion VND, including 75 ventilators, 15 patient monitor screens and 20,000 blood oxygen meters.
In addition, in response to the embassy's call, apart from the equipment that the two companies above gave to Ho Chi Minh City, German states, localities and other businesses also supported Vietnam with a total of more than 800,000 COVID-19 quick test kits, hundreds of thousands of medical masks and many pieces of medical equipment./.
