On May 12, the delegation had a working session with Vietnamese Ambassador to RoK Vu Ho in order to improve efficiency and deepen the city's foreign relations with RoK’s key localities, in the context of profound changes in the regional and international situation, helping to expand development space, find new motivation for economic growth and enhance the international position of the city.

The delegation’s business trip aims to demonstrate the deep affection and concern of HCMC leaders for the Vietnamese community in RoK, thereby learning about and listening to the thoughts and aspirations of overseas Vietnamese living and working in RoK.

On the same day, Vice Chairman of the HCMC People's Committee and the Vietnamese Ambassador to RoK co-presided over the program "Meeting and exchanging with the Vietnamese community in RoK".

At the program, Vice Chairman Vo Van Hoan said that he would assign HCMC’s Committee for Overseas Vietnamese to coordinate with localities in the RoK to continue to organize specific meaningful exchange and linkage activities, both for the development of the city and to meet the needs of the overseas Vietnamese intellectual, business and student communities.

On this occasion, Mr. Hoan presented a Vietnamese book set to the General Association of Overseas Vietnamese in RoK in response to the project "Day for Honoring Vietnamese Language in Vietnamese Communities abroad in the 2023 – 2030 period" launched by the Government of Vietnam.

Through the gift, he expressed his wishes to honor the richness and beauty of the Vietnamese language, raise awareness of the national language and culture for overseas Vietnamese in RoK and international friends, especially the younger generation; strongly spread the love of Vietnamese language, becoming a driving force in promoting the movement of teaching and learning Vietnamese in the community; contributing to preserving and promoting cultural identity and national traditions; and laying the foundation for a new phase of developing the position of Vietnamese languages in many fields./.
