Homeland Spring held for Vietnamese community in Israel

The Vietnamese Embassy in Israel held a “Xuan Que Huong” (Homeland Spring) program on March 1 for the Vietnamese community in the country to celebrate the Lunar New Year (Tet) festival.

The event attracted over 200 delegates, who are overseas Vietnamese living, studying and working in Israel, officials and staff of the Vietnamese Embassy and some foreign friends of Vietnam.

At the event, Ambassador Ly Duc Trung briefed participants on notable political, economic, and diplomatic achievements of Vietnam in 2023, affirming that the Vietnamese State always has favourable policies for the Vietnamese communities abroad.

On this occasion, the Ambassador presented certificates of merit to outstanding individuals who have made significant contributions to the citizen protection work in Israel, where an armed conflict has been ongoing for several months.

At the program, participants enjoyed an area recreating the old Tet space with Chung cake, traditional Vietnamese dishes, kumquat, peaches imbued with the traditional Tet holiday of Vietnamese people and art performances.

The Vietnamese community in Israel consists of approximately 500 who have acquired citizenship, 80 long-term labour migrants, and around 120 short-term agricultural trainees./.
