Lunar New Year Festival organized for overseas Vietnamese in RoK’s Hwaseong city

The event was attended by 150 people, who are representatives from the Vietnamese Embassy in RoK, local administration, Vietnamese workers, students and children of Vietnam-RoK multicultural families.

The local administration acknowledged the important contributions of about 3,000 overseas Vietnamese to multi-faceted development of the city and highly appreciated their rapid integration in the local society.

The administration of Hwaseong city also committed to make all efforts to support the overseas Vietnamese there and called upon them to continue to respect the local law and sent them happy New Year greetings.  

Representatives from the Vietnamese Embassy in RoK and EPS program encouraged the workers to abide by the law and labour contracts, and highly appreciated their contributions to people exchanges and the comprehensive relations between the two countries.

At the event, the participants eagerly joined in cheerful quizzes about the obligations and rights of workers organized by EPS program. In addition, the employees also raised problems they faced in life and were answered satisfactorily by related agencies. Moreover, they enjoyed an art program performed by overseas Vietnamese in the city.

On this occasion, outstanding workers and families were given certificates of merit by the Embassy, Overseas Vietnamese Association and local administration.

The event helped the overseas Vietnamese feel closer to each other and ease nostalgia when living far from the homeland./.
