Outstanding young Vietnamese in Czech Republic in 2020 honoured

The Vietnamese Embassy in the Czech Republic on August 5 held a ceremony to award certificates of merit to individuals with outstanding achievements in 2020 in order to encourage the young generation of Vietnamese in the country to actively contribute to building a united community, further deeply integrate into the host society and always look towards the homeland.

Accordingly, Vietnamese Ambassador to the Czech Republic Thai Xuan Dung presented certificates of merit to Dr. Nguyen Dong Nhat, a PhD student at Prague Polytechnic University, who is a typical young intellectual in the Czech Republic; Hoangova Thao Sandra, who organized to mobilize students to support the people in Vietnam’s Central region to overcome the consequences of floods in 2020; Duong Hong Nhung, who mobilized donations to support the construction of a kindergarten and support the poor in Nghe An province; and Jana Nguyenova, a medical student, who won the first prize in the SOC innovation contest organized by the Czech Ministry of Education, Youth and Sports in 2020.

Speaking at the ceremony, Ambassador Thai Xuan Dung said that due to the COVID-19 pandemic, in 2020 the Vietnamese Embassy in the Czech Republic didn’t hold a ceremony to award certificates of merit to individuals with outstanding achievements as usual.

Currently, the situation of COVID-19 pandemic in the Czech Republic is developing positively, and the Vietnamese Embassy held a ceremony to award certificates of merit to individuals with excellent achievements in 2020 to promptly encourage the young generation in the Vietnamese community in the Czech Republic to promote      the tradition of studiousness, solidarity and mutual affection, contributing to building the image of the Vietnamese community integrating more and more deeply into the host society and always looking towards the homeland.

On behalf of the Vietnamese community, Mr. Hoang Dinh Thang, Chairman of the Union of Vietnamese Associations in Europe, and Mr. Nguyen Duy Nhien, Chairman of the Overseas Vietnamese Association in the Czech Republic, highly appreciated the significance of giving certificates of merit to individuals with outstanding achievements in 2020, showing the interest of the Vietnamese Embassy in the young generation of Vietnamese in the Czech Republic.

Mr. Thang emphasized that this is the pride not only of individuals and families, but also of the Vietnamese community in the Czech Republic and Europe as well as in the world. The Union of Vietnamese Associations in Europe is always interested in contributing to promoting the study promotion movement in the Czech Republic and Europe in order to discover talents in the Vietnamese community with the desire to contribute to building the Vietnamese community in the Czech Republic in particular and Europe in general to develop stably, integrate better into the host society and always look towards the homeland.

In an interview with the Vietnam News Agency correspondent in Prague, Dr. Nguyen Dong Nhat, a researcher at Prague Polytechnic University, said he was honored to be one of four outstanding individuals who were highlighted by the Vietnamese Ambassador to the Czech Republic and expressed his desire to contribute to the construction of the homeland./.
