In 2021, the overseas Vietnamese community in Russia has organized various activities to promote the people-to-people diplomatic channel, contributing to the common victory of Vietnam’s diplomacy.

Mr. Nguyen Quoc Hung, Director of the Russia-Vietnam Cooperation Support Fund "Traditions and Friendship", said that despite facing many difficulties due to the impact of the COVID-19, the Overseas Vietnamese Association in Russia, along with overseas Vietnamese and Russian friends, through the fund, remain united, support each other to overcome difficulties, always look toward the country and accompany the Russian people in the fight against the pandemic.
Many movements of organizations and associations have helped and supported Russian doctors during the COVID-19 pandemic through donating masks, medical equipment and medicines.
Particularly, the Overseas Vietnamese Association in Russia, through the Russia-Vietnam Cooperation Support Fund "Traditions and Friendship", has raised about 3 billion VND, contributing to the vaccine fund as well as providing medical equipment and medicine to the people of Vietnam.
This donation shows solidarity towards the fatherland and country, as well as showing the friendship and solidarity with the Russian people to overcome difficulties during the complicated pandemic period.
In addition, within the framework of President Nguyen Xuan Phuc's visit, the Vietnamese community in Russia also donates for people in the Central region to cope with natural disasters by donating three specialized UAZ cars made by Russia to support the Vietnamese rescue force in prevention and control of natural disasters.
Mr. Nguyen Quoc Hung expressed his pleasure that the Party and State of Vietnam have common guiding viewpoints and policies on people-to-people diplomacy, and consider this a very important diplomatic channel together with Party and State diplomacy./.
