Sports exchanges to promote cohesion between ASEAN and Australian Department of Foreign Affairs

The Vietnamese Embassy in Australia on March 27 participated in an ASEAN friendship bowling competition and exchange program 2022, which is part of activities of the ASEAN Committee in Canberra (ACC) towards the 55th anniversary of the establishment of ASEAN.

The bowling tournament 2022 had the participation of Ambassadors, staff and family members of the ASEAN embassies in Canberra.
The event was also attended by guests from the Australian Department of Foreign Affairs.
High Commissioner for Brunei Zakaria Ahmad, rotating chair of the ACC for the first 6 months of 2022, affirmed that the bowling tournament not only contributes to enhancing understanding and cohesion among staff of ASEAN embassies, especially after nearly two years during which the ACC has had to limit its activities due to the impact of the COVID-19 pandemic, but it is also a good opportunity to exchange and promote the relationship between the ACC and Australia’s Department of Foreign Affairs.
The competing teams from the ASEAN Embassies and Australian guests enthusiastically competed in the cheering atmosphere of a large number of participants.
The enthusiastic participation of the Vietnamese Embassy in Canberra at the event has actively contributed to further tightening the friendship and cooperation relations with the embassies of ASEAN countries in Canberra, as well as with Australia’s Department of Foreign Affairs./.
